BKT unveils BKT Carbon at K 2025: first global showcase of Indian tire manufacturer

In October, Düsseldorf will host K 2025, the world’s premier trade fair dedicated to the plastics and rubber industry. For the first time, Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), a leading multinational specializing in Off-Highway tires, will showcase its new venture into the carbon black market through its BKT Carbon division. This strategic move marks BKT’s debut on the global stage for its carbon black business, underscoring its commitment to sustainable solutions for rubber and plastics industries.

At stand K33 in Hall 8a, visitors will have the opportunity to explore BKT Carbon’s innovative solutions based on carbon black. These formulations serve a wide range of specialized applications, including agricultural films, cables, wires, high-performance plastics, automotive components, inks, coatings, and rubber compounds. Developed for high performance, these products deliver both aesthetic appeal and durability, even under demanding conditions.

Sustainability is a core pillar of BKT’s strategy. The company’s production facility in Bhuj emphasizes eco-friendly practices, reusing over 75,000 cubic meters of gas annually generated from oil decomposition. Additionally, BKT has eliminated approximately 100,000 bulk bags and reduced CO₂ emissions from its site by more than two million kilograms. The company is also actively exploring the use of environmentally friendly fuels such as PNG, LPG, biogas, and renewable energy sources, further strengthening its commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

Looking ahead, BKT has outlined a five-year growth plan to increase its production capacity from 200,000 to 360,000 tons annually by 2026. This expansion focuses particularly on high-performance carbon black products, emphasizing not just volume growth but also enhanced sustainability and performance standards. Each new production line will be designed to uphold the company’s commitment to low environmental impact and high quality.
