Fabio Fritelli: Nextchem selected for a new urea production plant in China

Nextchem will provide the technology license, process design package and proprietary equipment for a new urea production plant in China. MAIRE announced that, through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, the company led by Fabio Fritelli has been selected by a major international operator for a plant with a capacity of 3,150 metric tons per day.

The project will rely on Nextchem’s proprietary urea technology, NX STAMI™ Urea, and will feature the Ultra-Low Energy (ULE) design, which enhances energy efficiency and operational performance. As part of the proprietary NX STAMI™ Urea suite, the ULE design cuts steam consumption by 35% and cooling water usage by 16% compared to conventional methods. This is made possible thanks to the innovative use of high-pressure steam and an advanced pool reactor design. “This contract award confirms the value of our proprietary urea technology and our ability to support clients with high-performance solutions that combine efficiency, reliability and long-term operational excellence – commented Managing Director Fabio Fritelli –. We are pleased to begin this collaboration and to further strengthen Nextchem’s presence in China, one of the world’s leading fertilizer markets”.
